Combination Seven-a-side Tournament

The Combination Seven-a-side Tournament was held at Clifton RFC, Cribbs Causeway on Monday, 5th May 2008.  As usual the tournament was played in good spirit.  The ten sides were split into two pools of five, the top two sides, after these pool games had been played went onto the semi final of the cup competition, the next two going into the plate competition and the bottom side retiring early to the bar! Reds and Cleve playing the cup final.  With Cleve taking an early lead and then Reds coming back, but Cleve recovered to win the final.  In the plate final Thornbury took on Southmead. Southmead going into an early lead, but Thornbury coming back in the second half to win the plate.

In July this year, Hannover in Germany (twinned city with Bristol for over 60 years), invites European rugby to the AWD-Arena, as it plays host to the annual European Rugby Sevens Championship on 12 and 13 July 2008.  Click here for more information.
